Summary of Disaster:

 

According to the emergency manager, “Hurricane Lili caused $800,000 to $900,000 in property damage. One of the major problems resulting from the storm was flooding.  Several homes just washed away while others had five feet of floodwaters in them. Some roads were five to six feet under water, and some had raw sewage floating in it. The rain caused a levee to break. This prompted some residents to evacuate after the storm had passed.”

 

Reported Injuries, Deaths, and Rescue at the Site:

 

According to the emergency manager, there were no reported injuries or deaths in Terrebonne Parish, but 15 people had to be rescued who had waited to long after the evacuation warning.
