Summary of Disaster: According to the emergency manager during the research interview, “The primary impact of the severe freeze was on the citrus industry, water pipes, irrigation system, and broken pipes at water plants.” The Cloudforest Weather estimated that the direct crop value loss was $555 million, with the total direct and indirect economic loss to the area estimated at $2.5 billion.
Reported Injuries, Deaths, and Rescue at the Site:The emergency manager was not aware of any injuries, deaths, or rescues as a result of the disaster in Fresno County.
